Autumn colours

I have never loved autumn like this year... its delicate beauty is hidden in a red and yellow leaf, in the bright orange of pumpkis, in the softness of the mist on a field, in the warm brown of a chestnut...
Browsing through the DP blogs I have admired so many beautiful seasonal photos and today I want to share mine. I took this in a vegetable stall in Piazza Erbe a few days ago.
The lady had arranged pomigranates, chestnuts and peperoncini on a tiny table creating such a lovely autumn set.
In the air I could smell the chestunuts being roasted a few steps back, their price scribbled with white chalk on the side of the rusty grill...

How lush! The vegetable seller is an artist. Just looking at the pomegranates next to the small hot peppers makes my toung wiggle.

You have captured the colors of autumn so well. Your words are so vivid I feel that I'm in the market with you. Autumn is my favorite season of all. I have also enjoyed all the photos shared through the DP sites.

Beautiful picture. I love the stunning colors and textures!

BTW I am posting pictures from Rome on my "Not McKinney" blog. I am surprised we don't have more CDP'ers from the eternal city.

Beautiful colours. What are the furry things? I love roasted chestnuts, they are something I associate with autumn in Europe, I rarely see them in here.

Oh my! Love this! The colors are brilliant and vibrant! May I ask, what are those green spiky sea-urchin like fruit? This is the first time I saw those.

Lovely shot by the way!

gorgeous closeup! I love greens and pinks together.
when I was little we'd walk to school by a chestnut tree. We'd see all those chestnuts on the ground, where they'd turn dark brown and crunchy.

they look much nicer green!

Chestnut is a typical taste of autumn in Japan.

That fuzzy green thing is chestnuts? Wow. I've only seen them without the skin on so I always thought they were just these brown seeds. I've never seen a pomegranate either. Thanks for all this newness!

I also love the rich textures and colors of this photo!

Valeria, what is that furry thing? Is that the outside of the chestnut?

I love the colors and texture in the photo, especially that furry looking fruit/seed/something. :-)
