Piazza Indipendenza

Unwell and blocked at home, couldn't go out to photograph the tree, now turned completely yellow. I am showing you another shot of that sunny day when I passed under the great Gingko tree and admired the sunlight cast on the ancient stones and bricks of a medieval palace on Piazza Indipendenza.

Bad weather coming

Afternoon stroll, Via Manin. Weather condition: partially cloudy, chilly wind.

I love this light, when it's dark cloudy but only partially, thus letting rays of sun enlighten the buildings against the metallic sky.

Green door - Theme day: CONTRASTS

A beautiful main door in Veronetta district. When I saw this beautiful old wooden door on Veronetta's "high street" my curiosity pushed me inside. I entered the hall and saw a staircase on the right leading to the flats above. Stepped slowly further ahead and found a typical couryard with a superb wrought iron gate...

Sun and clouds. Busy saturday!

Yesterday afternoon Piazza Bra was really choc-a-bloc! There was a huge event in the Arena last night and people were packed at the gates as early as five in the afternoon. Big italian pop singers (and international stars like Lenny Kravitz) were the guest stars and a red carpet was laid down in the middle of the square to have them walking up to the stage between two rows of crowd. The show will be aired on tv next week.

I took this photo as I was walking past the carpet and onto Via Mazzini, feeling a bit like a salmon swimming his way up the river flow....

Gingko update

A soft, yellow carpet: that's what all the leaves of the Gingkos (there are two) have formed in the last few days falling down, helped by the continuous rain. 

This morning the sun shone for a few hours, bright and warming in the perfectly clean sky...until grey clouds were back in the very early afternoon...

Today's last ray of sun

I caught the last ray of sun today, on the corner of a building I like a lot. It was around four pm and the light was dramatically changing.

It's getting rather chilly here, as I walked, I tightened my scarf and put on my leather gloves.
