If not now, when?

Today and tomorrow, all over Italy, loads of people, especially women, will demonstrate their indignation and disdain against the italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. I was among them today and I will be at the parade "Se non ora quando?" (if not now, when?) tomorrow.

This is the leaflet used to promote the political demonstration.
Even Juliet is indignant.

Ladies

I took this photo years ago with my old camera, a Sony Cybershot. It was a cold but sunny winter morning and Piazza Bra was lively but yet quiet.

Roman guards never stop working!

The roman guards never stop working, even in bad weather and snow!
Although today we had a hint of snow in the morning followed by icy rain, a few weeks ago Verona was under a white blanket that lasted a few days. Took this pic in the afternoon when the snowfall was consistent.

Talent show, rain, summer!

After days of pouring rain and thunderstorms, I am glad to officially welcome summer 2010! I took this photo yesterday, at around noon. At that time (and I suppose even earlier), a crowd of boys and girls stood in front of the stage where, many hours later, sang and danced the winners of one of the most famous italian talent shows, "Amici" (friends). I have never watched it but I know that it is extremely popular and some of the winners have actually become famous, especially singers.

The little red "train" rests before the next ride that will take tourists across the city centre.

Spring snow!

A couple of days ago a late snowfall whitened most of Italy's northern regions. Here in Verona it began tuesday evening, feebly, stopped overnight (or probably it was just too light and melt) and started again on wednesday morning with bigger flakes that fell at a steady rythm for hours. The traffic was slowed down considerably and probably this caused discomfort for many people. I was lucky enough to enjoy the "show" at home, behind the windows... Only in the afternoon I went out to take a some pics....

Golden birdcages

Louis Vuitton's window, Piazza Bra. Luxury items consumers - fashion victims - are perhaps like caged birds?

(I am the one behind the shoes...)

Foggy and cold

Out in Piazza Bra at 9 pm last night. Foggy and freezing cold, it was such a relief to enter in the restaurant and feel the warmth and cosyness of the place...

Advertising

This advertising panel covers the broken profile of the arena's outer ring (you can spot the image of the upper part of the circle on the top panel, see it better here).
In the last few years shis side of the Arena has been used for big advertising campaigns, causing some fair polemic among the veronesi.

The last one of the year!

I chose this photo to say good bye to the year. Piazza Bra is one of the most beautiful spots of the town, it's close to home and I pass here almost every day. The snow, a couple of weeks ago, made the square even more fascinating. I took this at the beginning of the snowfall, in the early afternoon.

I want to thank you all. Thank you for your kind comments all year round, thank you for your friendship. I wish I could have more time to visit all of you every day, your blogs are a treat to me and I enjoy so much to be in touch with the rest of the world through your photos.

Wishing you all the best for the new year, health - first of all - , love and a load of positive feelings. Peace to the world!
