"Corot and the Modern Art" Exhibition

I visited the "Corot and the Modern Art" yesterday at the Palazzo della Granguardia.
I was promptly informed that I couldn't take pictures of the paintings...so I had to make do with the yet beautiful hall. The title of the exhibition and some of the paintings were projected on the back wall, creating a spectacular view.

"...A great master of painting working at the heart of nineteenth-century France was closely tied to seventeenth-century European tradition and natralism, but also turned toward the birth of Impressionism and the experiences of the first avantgardes of the twentieth century"

Glass of wine

I'd like to offer you a good glass of Valpolicella at the Enoteca Osteria Carroarmato!
This is one of my favourite places to eat a simple but delicious meal in a historical building. I love their massive and long old tables to share with others, in the big hall with its high ceiling and ancient wooden beams. This Osteria has been here for many, many decades and it is among the very typical ones in town.

Centuries of worship

Church of San Fermo, side entrance.
The church was built between 1065 and 1350 on a pre-existent smaller church built in the 5th century AC.
You can find more historical details here.

The Doctor's Club

I love to walk in the University zone! The other day I took several pics and actually I have already published a couple here. I like it here because it's so lively! Students coming and going, many of them gathering in front of the University or entering bookshops and cafés.

This is the Doctor's Club Café and I loved it at first sight for its strong colours. It was a quiet morning with few students in front of their books, coffees and cappuccini...
The guy behind the counter noticed me taking pics and smiling asked my husband if I was a spy... We laughed at it over a nice espresso while I explained that I have a photoblog...
Well, at least I hope he'll like my photos!

Weather changing

Saturday, late afternoon. Walking back home from the park I couldn't miss the spectacular view from Ponte di Castelvecchio over the River Adige and the Cathedral of San Zeno. I hope you enjoy it too.

Fieracavalli, back in 1890

Butteri of Maremma at Fieracavalli.
If it wasn't for a few modern details and thanks to a little bit of photoshopping, this scene could well be dated 1890, wouldn't it?

Animal art for Fieracavalli

This art installation (the horses on the balcony) yesterday reminded me that today starts the 108th Fieracavalli, one of the most important horses exhibition in Europe. Exhibitors come from all over the world and for a few days the town is packed with people (just like with Vinitaly, the wine fair).
I will surely go to visit, like I've been doing for years now (see my posts last year). I love to see the horse shows and loose myself among the hundreds of stalls full riding equipment and horse accessories. Name any horse breed, you find it. Name anything related to the horse riding world, it's here.
I can't wait to go!
