Pasquetta

The day after Easter (Pasqua) in Italy is called "Pasquetta". Traditionally, almost every italian go out of town for a trip or at least, for a pic-nic. What we did is the most typical way to spend the day: we drove to the countryside near Custoza (a tiny village where we used to live until a couple of years ago) and joined some friends in their country home/bed&breakfast feast.
This is a superb "grigliata" with pork, lamb and salamelle (sausages).

I have been in Tuscany (back home) with my family and enjoyed the seaside for a few days. It was so nice, once back, to find your kind messages and wishes for a happy Easter. I hope you have spent a nice week-end and had a good time on Pasquetta. I'll be soon catching up with all of your entries...!

By the way, what is it you normally do on this day?

I missed a few days and am pleasantly surprised, and ready to reminisce about Pasquetta.

Thank you for these wonderful pictures.

It's a regular work day here. Your barbecuing meat on the grill looks good.

The grilled meats look delicious. I wish we had traditions like that here.

For the last three years, I go out to take photos at the Easter Parade and then go to brunch with friends.

Oh your cook out is similar to what we do in the south every weekend! Hope you had a wonderful Easter with family and friends. I do so enjoy your blog.

This photo made me very hungry! Our family normally has a family picnic. This year we had a fantastic relaxing spa day. We needed it!

looks like a perfect pasquetta. We had the same, but a home version with lots of friends over for the fun. Fortunately it stopped raining and the sun came out so we could enjoy the meal outdoors. And now today, it really does feel like spring has arrived!

Normally I go to work but today I took the day off and then went shopping with my 11 year old daughter! Then we ate left overs from yesterdays Easter dinner and had a fire in our backyard in the chiminea.
