My favourite balcony

Among the many beautifully flowered balconies in the city centre, this is definitely my favourite!

Cute balcony

Isn't it a sweet balcony? I love every detail here, the rusty iron, the mossy stone, the simple terracotta vases, the old paint on the shutters...
Yet another hidden corner of Veronetta district!

Spring snow!

A couple of days ago a late snowfall whitened most of Italy's northern regions. Here in Verona it began tuesday evening, feebly, stopped overnight (or probably it was just too light and melt) and started again on wednesday morning with bigger flakes that fell at a steady rythm for hours. The traffic was slowed down considerably and probably this caused discomfort for many people. I was lucky enough to enjoy the "show" at home, behind the windows... Only in the afternoon I went out to take a some pics....

Spring blooms at S. Niccolò

I can't help posting more flowers...
There is a connection between the classical features of the Church and the blooms...

Village weekly market

This photo inspired a friend in Japan to write a Haiku:

morning market ;
flowers cast autumnal colour.
by Nobu

This morning we visited Sommacampagna weekly market. This little town is close to a tiny village where we used to live before moving into Verona, one year and a half ago. We used to come here almost every week to enjoy a quiet stroll, a coffee, newspaper reading and, of course, to buy some nice vegetables and fruits, cheeses and the occasional extra item, that could have been a fleece jumper or a bathroom rug or, say, a pair of stockings. Many times my "extra item" was a plant which I liked to pick up at this florist's.
