A romantic walk along the river

A quiet and romantic walk along river Adige, right behind the Church of Santa Anastasia.

P.S. I wonder who will be the 250th follower of Verona Daily Photo. YOU?

Church of Santa Anastasia

Church of Santa Anastasia is one of the most beautiful churches of Verona, a masterpiece of gothic art built between 1280 and 1400.
Here is a detail of the beautifully painted ceiling and the organ (1625) of the Miniscalchi altar, decorated in the XVth century.
I lack of information about the sculpture, which was, initially, the object of my photo.

Ladies

I took this photo years ago with my old camera, a Sony Cybershot. It was a cold but sunny winter morning and Piazza Bra was lively but yet quiet.

Juliet's Christmas tree

I haven't posted any Christmas trees this year but I do have a few nice pics and this is one of them. This is certainly the most unusual of Christmas trees and it couldn't have been more appropriate! Love notes and letters decorate the tree below Juliet's balcony.

Teatro Filarmonico

A great evening at the Teatro Filarmonico.
Conductor Enrique Batiz with the Orchestra of the Arena di Verona played L. van Beethoven's 4th Simphony B flat major, op. 60.

Roman guards never stop working!

The roman guards never stop working, even in bad weather and snow!
Although today we had a hint of snow in the morning followed by icy rain, a few weeks ago Verona was under a white blanket that lasted a few days. Took this pic in the afternoon when the snowfall was consistent.

Caffè Portegheti

This is one of my fav cafes in the district of Veronetta. It's right in front of St. Thomas Becket's Church, under the "portichetti". It's from this word that the place takes its name, but in veronese dialect, "portegheti". It was a bright, sunny but cold morning and we enjoyed a good coffee.
